The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has authenticated the certificates of the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Saturday’s governorship election in Osun nation, Ademola Adeleke.
Adeleke, who currently represents Osun West senatorial district, was recently accused of parading a forged WAEC result, quickly after emerging the candidate of the party.
Two members of the party, Rasheed Olabayo and Oluwaseun Idowu, had approached the court seeking an interlocutory order to set aside the election of Adeleke as the candidate of the party and to stop him from parading himself as one, insisting that he did no longer satisfy the constitutional necessities to contest the governorship number one.
At the hearing to of the case today, the examination body said Adeleke sat for the exam in 1981.
In its affidavit sworn to by Henry Sunday Adewunmi Osindeinde, a Deputy Registrar Head of faculty exam branch, WAEC stated Adeleke sat for the may additionally/April 1981 at Ede Muslim high faculty, Yidi avenue, Ede, with Centre variety: 19645 and Candidate number 149.
