I Am The Only APC Leader, As Omo-Agege Chide O'Tega Emerhor and Others.

The fresh crisis is coming on the heels of recent inauguration of various standing committees which was boycotted by some big shots including Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and the 2015 Labour Party governorship candidate in the state, Chief Great Ogboru.

However, Omo-Agege and Ogboru who defected to APC in 2016, last weekend in Abraka, Ethiope East Council Area of the state inaugurated an APC pressure group called the ‘Light of APC’ to champion the interest of former Labour Party members who defected to the party.

Senator Omo-Agege, who is the only elected officeholder on the party’s platform in the state at the inauguration of the group, told the gathering comprising renowned labour union leader, Chief Frank Kokori that being the highest elected political officeholder in the party he is automatically the leader of the party in the state.

He particularly berated some chieftains of the party in the state for describing themselves as leaders of the party in the state.

Taking a swipe at those describing themselves as leaders of the party, Omo-Agege said, “Some people go around with different kind of titles claiming to be leader of the party, if anyone should be leader of the party, frankly speaking, it should be me the highest elected political office holder of APC extraction in Delta State.”

He explained that he refused to confront those arrogating leadership titles to themselves because “I do not seek it as an accolade.”

Omo-Agege added, “We want to win the governorship of Delta come 2019 and to do that, we must put our best foot forward, you do not compensate people with governorship, you win and earn governorship and you only win it with voters, they do not allocate it neither is it an inheritance by zoning.”

It was learnt that the Ogboru/Omo-Agege block of the APC are not also happy with the role Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor played during the inauguration of the party’s caucus in Asaba on the first week of August.
