ASUU Suspends it Three Months Strike.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, has suspended it three months strike after reaching on an agreement with Federal Government on Thursday 7th February 2019.



ASUU also clarified that it a suspension, and not an outright call-off of it strike. They threatened to go embark on another strike if federal government failed to meet her part of the agreement already reached.

According to reports through their tweet handler, ASUU directs lecturers to resume on Friday.

The strike was called off after a two hour meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.



Ngige said after the meeting that eight areas of disagreements were discussed and agreed upon by the two parties, while expressing gratitude to ASUU leadership for their understanding.

ASUU president, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said lecturers are to resume on Friday, February 8, 2019.
