President Muhammadu Buhari has request Ibrahim Idris, inspector General of Police, not to invite Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic People (PDP) in Osun State election, before Saturday. The police had requested Adeleke to appear before it at the force headquarters in Abuja over alleged exam malpractice.
However a presidential source informed reporters on Wednesday that Buhari had ordered the IGP not to head in advance with the invitation until the governorship election is over.
Senator Adeleke is one of the 4 strong contenders in Saturday’s election. Earlier, Jimoh Moshood, force public relations officer, stated Adeleke might be charged to court over exam malpractice, crook conspiracy, impersonation, and breach of obligation.
Moshood said Adeleke connived with four persons identified as Sikiru Adeleke, Aregbesola Mufutau (principal of Ojo-Aro community Grammar college, Egbedore LGA, Osun), Gbadamosi Thomas Ojo (school teacher incharge of registration of candidates for NECO), and Dare Olutope (school trainer who facilitated the crime).
He had requested them to record to the unique investigation panel on the force headquarters in Abuja.
