On Monday, Luka Modric wins 2018 World best player putting an end to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi decade long title rivalry.
Luka Modric who is a Croatia midfielder, ran out as a powerful winner at the Royal festival hall, with 29.05% of the votes.
Captains and managers of countries from around the world have been requested to pick three players for the award, and the whole list of votes had been posted shortly after Monday’s ceremony had concluded.
Barcelona striker, Lionel Messi, who quite didn’t make the pinnacle 3, voted for Modric, Kylian Mbappe and rival Cristiano Ronaldo in that order. Ronaldo, but did not pay off the favour, as he voted for Raphael Varane, Modric and Antoine Griezmann.
