A political support group, Agege Again Advocates (AAA) has debunked the news currently in circulation that the Senator representing Delta Central senatorial district, Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has been arrested following an alleged invasion of the National Assembly by suspected thugs during plenary at the Red Chamber and made away with the symbol of authority - The Mace.
The attack was said to have been sponsored by the Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, which subsequently led to his arrest by men of the Nigerian Police Force outside the premises of the National Assembly.
While addressing its members and multiple of followers, the National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Ogegere Enis calls for calmness, adding that the Distinguished Senator is fine and was not arrested contrary to reports making rounds in the media.
"I want to state categorically that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, our respected and distinguished Senator was not arrested. He is fine and will certainly address us in no distance time. I urge all our members and supporters to be calm.
The news of the arrest of our Senator is far from the truth, so there is no cause for alarm", Enis said.
