The presidential amnesty office has said it would soon commence the second phase of arms mob up exercise in the Niger-Delta region in order to deepen peace and security in the region.
The special adviser to the president on Niger Delta and the Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (Rtd) disclosed this at the end of the two days annual conference of Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice held in Benin City, the Edo state Capital.
The coordinator who was represented by Prince Kenneth Ehigie said the beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme are today responsible members of society and also helping to build peace in parts of the country.
On the issue of gas flaring in the region, Boroh said that the federal government will today commerces the sensitization exercise in Benin city as parts of government sincere desire in it efforts to stamp out gas flaring and intensified actions mitigate its health-related effects and also to create jobs for the youths.
