Otunba Gani Adams To Be The Next 'Are On a Kankanfo' of Yoruba Race

In few weeks’ time, Otunba Gani Adams, the National coordinator of the factional Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) will be honoured with the highest title in Yoruba history, ‘Are Ona Kankanfo’ ’ (The Generalissimo of the Yoruba Race).

Although, the exact date of the conferment is yet to be disclose by the Alafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III.

Otunba Gani Adams’s influence and followership in the south west region of Nigeria gave birth to the new Oodua People Union OPU, a group that has been reuniting Yoruba’s in over 57 countries in the world promoting Yoruba culture and heritage.

The title was last occupied by late Billionaire business mogul and the winner of the annulled June 12 1993 presidential election, Kashimawo Moshood Abiola (MKO). The title has remained unclaimed for nineteen years, since the demise of MKO.
