Drugs Abuse: Teenage Student Died Over Intake of Tramadol In Delta State.

A teenage student of the Army Day Secondary School, Effurun, Uvwie council area of Delta state, reportedly died from complications suffered on intake of tramadol overdose last Friday.

The boy, name withheld, was said to have slumped into coma in his class, prompting the worried school authorities to rush him to an hospital where he allegedly admitted to regular intake of the sensitive tramadol to get high among his peers.

“It was too late the doctors said. The prolong abuse of the drug has caused much damage. He didn’t make as he later died. The father, resident in Agbarho, Ughelli North local government area, who was alerted when the school noticed the danger tried raising issues.

“He didn’t have much justifications to make trouble. The child had been observed to always sleep in class and hardly attentive. He couldn’t deny noticing some of the abnormal behaviors himself and the tramadol confession shocked him”, a school source told ZENZIDIARY.

Prevalent teenagers abuse of tramadol is said to be on the rise with medical experts cautioning parents to be watchful of peer influence and strange habits among their children, in and out of home.

Dangers associated with abuse of tramadol, a capsule, include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, tired feeling, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, feeling nervous or anxious; or itching, sweating, flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling).
