The Senator representing Rivers South-East in the National
Assembly, Magnus Abe, has revealed that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi
Amaechi, cannot force him out of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Abe, who spoke on Sunday, at a rally he organised in Gokana,
told his supporters that he was not joining issues with Amaechi.
Recall, that Amaechi and Abe have been having a running
battle, over who controls the political power in the Rivers State chapter of
the APC.
Abe said: “We are not disputing the leadership of Amaechi in
the APC in Rivers State, but there were issues in the party. People are saying
that the ambition of Senator Magnus Abe to be Governor, is the problem in the
party.
“And that they have asked Senator Abe to wait, let us build
the party, and Senator Abe refused to wait; he said he must be Governor, and it
is scattering the party.
“I want to stand in front of my people to say to you, that
story is not true. People have said that we got the ticket to go to the Senate
to become whatever we want to be, because the leader said so.”
