Ahead Wednesday Federal Executive Council meeting, Acting
President Yemi Osinbajo Tuesday afternoon left Abuja for London to meet with
ailing President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari, who has been on medical vacation in London in the
last 60 days, it was learnt had asked Osinbajo to see him ahead of Wednesday
meeting.
Senior Media Aide to the Acting President, Laolu Akande,
confirmed this on his Twitter handle @akandeoj.
He however said Mr. Osinbajo will return to Abuja after the
meeting, apparently to be able to preside over the weekly Federal Executive
Council meeting on Wednesday.
“Acting President Osinbajo meeting with President Buhari in
London today, and returning to Abuja immediately afterwards,” Akande tweeted.
Zenzidiary recalls that Mr. Buhari returned to the United
Kingdom in May, exactly 57 days after he returned from his first medical
vacation during which he spent 49 days in London.
While leaving on Sunday, May 7, President Buhari, in a
letter to the National Assembly said he would remain in London indefinitely,
asking his Vice, Mr Osinbajo, to coordinate the affairs of government in acting
capacity.
