Ondo APC Are Betrayals…They Collected Over N300million from Me and Gave 44 Votes’ – Ekungba

One of the governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded Saturday, September 3 primaries in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Jamiu Afolabi Ekungba, has lambasted the people of the state, describing them as ‘betrayals’ who milked him off N300 million without visible results during the primaries.
Ekungba who had promised to fix Ondo state in 45 days should he win the primaries, was left dejected after he was only able to gather just 44 votes from the 2,774 delegates. 
Lamenting after the results was announced at the Dome, in Akure, the state capital, Ekungba told journalists that the people of State collected his money and deceived him by failing to cast their votes for him in the primaries after spending millions of naira.
Though Ekungba, who hails from Owo Local Government Area of the state with the winner of the primaries Rotimi Akeredolu was seen congratulating the winner, however that did not stop the Owo born politician from expressing his griviances.
According to him, “I am highly disappointed in the people of Ondo, they are bastards and betrayals. They deceived me. I spent over N300million naira on reaching out to each of the delegates alone. Even before the primaries I have spent millions of naira. After collecting my money they gave me just 44votes.”
“From today I will never help any Ondo State indigene, I’ll rather give out my money to the Hausa beggars on the street.” Ekungba lamented.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Ondo State ended with former President of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Rotimi Akeredolu emerging as the winner of the election.
Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee for Ondo State and the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar who announced the result at the International event centre, the Dome, Alagbaka, Akure in Ondo state, said Aketi as fondly called by his supporters, won the poll with a total of 669 votes to defeat his closest rival and Tinubu’s anointed candidate, Abraham Michael Olusegun who pulled 635 votes.
APC had 24 governorship aspirants and 3,000 delegates participating in the primary election, the 24 governorship aspirants were: the former president of the Nigeria Bar Association, Rotimi Akeredolu, Abraham Michael Olusegun – APC leader, Bola Tinubu’s “preferred candidate”; Olusola Oke, Tunji Abayomi, Professor Robert Ajayi Boroffice, Olabode Mathew Ayorinde, Victor Olabimtan, and Akinyelure Ayo.
Others are: Alasoadura Omotayo, Awodeyi-Akinsehinwa Akintola, Ekungba Afolabi, Oyewumi Taiwo, Anifowoshe Jumoke and Ariyomo Olatunji.
Niran-Oladunni Moyosola, Adegbonmire Adeniyi (SAN), Adegoroye Ademola, Adesida-Abiodun Aderin, Adetula Olubukola, Adefemi Mayowa, Akingbade Akinwale, Akinola Akinyinka, Akinrinsola Odumayo and Akintelure Paul.
Meanwhile, APC Primary Election Committee Chairman, Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar who announced the results, urged the unsuccessful aspirants in the election to pacify their supporters to join hands with Mr. Akeredolu in order to win the November 26th governorship election in the state, adding that the party was prepared to defeat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 26th governorship election in the Ondo State.

Olusola Oke 568 Votes
Tayo Alasoadura 206
Foluso Adefemi 13 Votes
Tunji Ariyomo – 2 Votes
Niyi Adegbomire 8 Votes
Ademola Adegoroye 0 votes
Derin Adesida 2 votes
Bukola Adetula 8 Votes.
Jamiu Afolabi Ekungba – 44 votes.
